Doug Cardosi is the reason I am where I am today. He took me from being a very raw and inexperienced keeper and taught me the correct technique and skills to succeed as a top level keeper. He has also helped me fine tune my skills over the summer when I am home from college. Without Dougie putting me in the right situations and knowing the right people I don't know if I would be where I am today! Matt Pyzdrowski (Professional Goalkeeper / Angelholms FF in Sweden Superettan) I have known Doug for over a decade now. I can speak volumes about not only his ability as a coach but also about his dedication to the game and the goalkeeper position specifically. I have recruited and signed goalkeepers that Doug has coached and they have received national accolades at the D1 college level...I will go back his way again in the future. Stan Anderson (Marquette U / Assoc Head Coach / Big E Conference) I first started training with Doug when I was a member of the Olympic Development Team. I worked with him for 3 years. I had been playing in the goal for several years prior to that & had received a lot of goal training during that time. I would have to say that Doug was one of the best trainers I have ever had. He taught me more about the game, diving, breakaways, highballs, & overall technique than I had ever learned before. I have not had training as detailed or beneficial to my learning process as a goalkeeper since then. Since my time with Doug I have been fortunate to have experienced many successes in the game of soccer. Hopefully that will continue into my college career. I will attend Doug’s training sessions for as long as I can. It would be in any goalkeeper’s best interest to learn from the best! Zach Hosler (Goalkeeper Southern Illinois University) I have known Dougie for 15 plus years. He has helped me as a player, as a coach, and most importantly as a person. Through his multiple years of working with me as a player, I was able to transform from a 10 year old, that was scared of the ball, to a 18 year old that had been a part of Illinois' ODP program, as well as pursued by several colleges and universities. In addition to the impact that Dougie had on my coaching career, he has had a major impact on my coaching career. Without Dougie, there is a slim chance that I would have experienced as much success in my coaching career as I have. He taught me patience, assertiveness, organization techniques, communication techniques, and how to remain level headed in the toughest of circumstances. Above all of these things, I am proud to say, that after 15 plus years, Dougie is still one of my greatest friends. Ginny Gilbert (FC Barrington Coach/ Illinois ODP Staff) Douglas Cardosi is a professionally oriented goalkeeping instructor. He puts a lot of energy into his work, and emphasizes the teachings of a technically sound and most efficient keeper. Lucas Zicher (Former Goalkeeper Depaul University / Trinity International) I have worked with Doug for the last 15 years. As a Club Director, I have hired Coach Cardosi as our Goalkeeping Director at both clubs. His training and professionalism are second to none. He truly has a feel for the needs of each and every goalkeeper he trains, regardless of the level. Doug is one of the finest coaches I have ever worked with. Michael D. (Director of Fury Futbol Club of Illinois) I have been working with Doug for the last 8-10 years through the State and Regional ODP program, and there is not a better teacher of young goalkeepers out there. He has committed himself completely to the craft of improving developing goalkeepers, and there is no one in the Midwest that I would trust more to make goalkeepers between the ages of 10 and 16 better. Eric Luzzi (N Illinois Head Men's Soccer Coach / Region II GK Coach) Through Doug's impeccable knowledge of the game, genuine respect for his players' athletic growth and his capacious heart, Doug is seen as the ultimate mentor to his players, both past and present. Undoubtedly, Doug was an integral part in my success as a youth player, as he helped to focus and guide my love for playing goalkeeper. Kate Straka (Former Duke U Goalkeeper / Region II Goalkeeper / Head Girls Coach Highland Park High School) I’ve been fortunate enough to work Doug at many different levels of the game. Doug understands the technical and tactical aspects of the position extremely well and has an uncanny ability to pass that knowledge onto his players. Chris Dadaian (Former U of Wisc-Milwaukee / Asst Coach) Dougie is as passionate and knowledgeable with his goalkeeping coaching as they come. He is committed to improving goalkeepers of all ages. Erick Baumann (Dir of Athletics / Head Men's Soccer Coach / Dominican U) In three years of coaching, Doug helped me achieved my goals of being a Varsity Starter and eventually walking on to a Division 1 soccer program. Doug's training sessions are never the same and he is always bringing new stuff to the table. Not only is he a great coach, but a friend as well! Tom Wang (Former Goalkeeper Valparaiso University / Asst Mens's Coach Harper College) Doug Cardosi is one of the premier goalkeeper trainers in the Midwest region of America. Doug is extremely gifted at motivating, challenging and developing goalkeepers in all areas of the position. Anyone with the opportunity to work with Doug will enjoy his sessions and will certainly see their goalkeeping abilities improve. Scott Steib (Head Boy’s Coach / Barrington High School) Enthusiasm, professionalism, and passion are only a few elements Doug brings with his coaching. He has always shown an unrelenting dedication to developing goalkeepers at all levels and is excited and eager to also educate coaches on how they can continue to improve their own goalkeepers as well.
