Doug Cardosi is the reason I am where I am today. He took me from being a very raw and inexperienced keeper and taught me the correct technique and skills to succeed as a top level keeper. He has also helped me fine tune my skills over the summer when I am home from college.  Without Dougie putting me in the right situations and knowing the right people I don't know if I would be where I am today!

     I have known Doug for over a decade now.  I can speak volumes about not only his ability as a coach but also about his dedication to the game and the goalkeeper position specifically.  I have recruited and signed goalkeepers that Doug has coached and they have received national accolades at the D1 college level...I will go back his way again in the future.

     I first started training with Doug when I was a member of the Olympic Development Team. I worked with him for 3 years. I had been playing in the goal for several years prior to that & had received a lot of goal training during that time. I would have to say that Doug was one of the best trainers I have ever had. He taught me more about the game, diving, breakaways, highballs, & overall technique than I had ever learned before. I have not had training as detailed or beneficial to my learning process as a goalkeeper since then. Since my time with Doug I have been fortunate to have experienced many successes in the game of soccer. Hopefully that will continue into my college career. I will attend Doug’s training sessions for as long as I can. It would be in any goalkeeper’s best interest to learn from the best!

     I have known Dougie for 15 plus years.  He has helped me as a player, as a coach, and most importantly as a person.  Through his multiple years of working with me as a player, I was able to transform from a 10 year old, that was scared of the ball, to a 18 year old that had been a part of Illinois' ODP program, as well as pursued by several colleges and universities.  In addition to the impact that Dougie had on my coaching career, he has had a major impact on my coaching career.  Without Dougie, there is a slim chance that I would have experienced as much success in my coaching career as I have.  He taught me patience, assertiveness, organization techniques, communication techniques, and how to remain level headed in the toughest of circumstances.  Above all of these things, I am proud to say, that after 15 plus years, Dougie is still one of my greatest friends.
